New album "Odyssey into the Grey" out now!

Greetings all thee!
Today marks the release of our 4th album "Odyssey into the Grey"!
In honour of everyone who participated in making this album, we released a documentary style music video of the song "Vem Kan Segla Förutan Vind" showing us recording and people participating in making this album. We wish to thank everyone involved!

Composer Harri Koskela:  “I’m so overwhelmingly happy to finally release this album. We’ve always aimed to raise the bar on every release, and with this album I certainly think that we succeeded quite nicely again. It’s by far the most ambitious album we’ve done thus far, both musically and production wise. I’m a big fan of storytelling via music, so drama and nuances are in my opinion a key factor in it, and so I feel that our albums are at best when enjoyed as a whole. This album definitely makes no exception with that, so I strongly suggest to sit down, maybe have a glass of wine, and enjoy this musical rollercoaster. For the last video release of the album we chose the song ‘Vem Kan Segla Förutan Vind’ and wanted to honour everyone who participated in making this record.”

Anne Lil continues:
“‘Vem Kan Segla Förutan Vind´ is one of the first songs I remember from my childhood, or at least the first I remember in my mother tongue Swedish. It’s a traditional song, which supposedly originates from the Åland islands between Finland and Sweden. We then wrote new verses to the song making our own version of the whole. The video was made in documentary style showing us recording and people participating in making this album. We wish to thank everyone involved!”

New single and music video "The Bottomless Pit" out now!

Greetings all thee!

We may finally have a peek into ‘The Bottomless Pit’ as the new Lost in Grey single and music video is now revealed. The song title stems from a quote from Erich Fromm, “Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.”

“‘The song represents the most versatile and theatrical side of the new album, accompanied with lots of orchestral elements. Musically I was inspired by certain movie scores, and some may recognise e.g. some “Ennio Morricone vibes” here and there. This track is one of the first ones which we worked on together with Francesco Ferrini from Fleshgod Apocalypse regarding the orchestral elements, and I’m extremely happy how it turned out! Also, it is one of the two songs we composed together with Anne Lill for this album.” - Harri

“Storywise ‘The Bottomless Pit’ is the “villain song” of the upcoming album. We sing mainly as our characters, but there are two lines in which I’m singing as “myself”, or an actor explaining her part. This is also the song in which my character Lillian sort of realises she has a dark side too. As I’m interested in various forms of art (e.g. writing, singing, visual arts), this time I also explored that through improvised dancing in the music video.” - Anne Lill

"Odyssey into the Grey" album release show in Hyvinkääsali, Hyvinkää, Finland, on Saturday April 6th 2024

The Finnish theatrical metal pioneers, Lost in Grey, will be releasing their 4th full-length album “Odyssey into the Grey” on April 5th, and will be celebrating the album release with a special album release concert in their hometown, Hyvinkää, Finland, the very next day.

Inspired by a large variety of musical genres, literature, philosophy, and the world itself, Lost in Grey creates multifaceted music, and brings elements of drama to their songs as well as live performances.

In recent years these theatrical metal pioneers have proven to be one of the most promising and inspiring acts coming from the Finnish metal scene, electrifying their audiences through their versatile musical storytelling and tremendous sound. Yet they have been mostly seen on the stages of venues around Europe, and thus the show in their hometown is a rare delicatess.

The opening act of this unique concert evening will be “Where’s My Bible”. This melodic death metal band has gained international attention by winning the national “Come to Latin America” band competition in 2022, and the band will be releasing their 2nd full length album during this year.
